If you thought it was game over then think again! Chris Rock and Lionsgate are working together for the next Saw movie!
Saw is a horror franchise distributed by Lionsgate and produced by Twisted Pictures. There are eight films that revolves around the fictional character ‘Jigsaw’ who traps victims in situations that test their will to live. If the people escape the trap then 'Jigsaw' believes they have learned to appreciate their lives.
Rock has written a story and expressed, “I’ve been a fan of Saw since the first film in 2004. I am excited by the opportunity to take this to a really intense and twisted new place.”
The film will be produced by Mark Burg and Oren Koules and directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. Bousman also contributed to three of the most successful films in the Saw franchise: Saw II, Saw III and Saw IV. Daniel Heffner, James Wan, Leigh Whannel and Rock himself will executive produced the film.
Burg and Koules stated, “Chris wants to put his own spin on the Saw franchise in the way Eddie Murphy put a completely fresh perspective on buddy-cop films with 48 Hours. This new Saw is going to be an event film in the making for horror fans. It will have all of the twists and turns and hardcore layers that our fans expect directed by one of the masters of the craft, Darren Lynn Bousman. We can’t wait to get started.”
