The action comedy Extreme Job became the highest-grossing film ever in the history of Korea. The film beat the movie Roaring Currents (2014) which was the record-holder up until this past weekend. Extreme Job cumulated 122.1 million (137.7 billion Korean won) while Roaring Currents stands at $120.5 million (135.7 billion Korean won).
Extreme Job focuses on narcotics detectives who work undercover in a fried chicken joint to crack down on a crime ring. Things take an unexpected turn when the rundown restaurant turns into the hottest eatery in town. The film is directed by Lee Byung-Heon a South Korean film director and screenwriter. He is also known for the Korean film Twenty. The star actors of Extreme Job include Ryu Seung-ryong, Lee Hanee, Jin Seon-kyu, Lee Dong-hwi and Gong Myung.
