It is set! BBC Studios, Simon Lupton and Dan Sefton teamed up to produce a new series about the last six months on Marilyn Monroe’s life! The series will explore her life in Hollywood and her relationships with JFK, Bobby Kennedy and much more!
The title for the series is The Last Days of Monroe, but it is still in the works. The series will be based on the book “The Final Years of Marilyn Monroe: The Shocking True Story” by Keith Badman. The book covers Monroe’s dedication to becoming a respected actress, her romantic relationships, her dependency on alcohol and medication, and then the delays in reporting her overdose the night of her death.
Marilyn Monroe was an actress, model and singer. She was one of the most remarkable stars in Hollywood. Many called her a sex symbol because some of her leading roles focused on her looks and her sex appeal. Monroe were in the films Niagara, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and How to Marry a Millionaire. She was married to Joe DiMaggio but was rumored to having an affair with JFK. In 1962, Monroe passed away at the age of 36 due to an overdose.
Anne Pivcevic is the executive producer for BBC Studios, she states “In the last few months of her life, Marilyn was sincerely loved, callously betrayed, cynically filled with hope and ultimately cruelly abandoned. Her death changed the lives of everyone in her orbit and cemented her status as a legend.”
