Michelle Williams Fights Gender Pay Gap After Learning Mark Wahlberg Was Paid More Than Her! [VIDEO]

Actress Michelle Williams is no longer staying quiet! She recently expressed how she felt after learning her partner Mark Wahlberg got paid more than her for the same amount of work on All the Money in the World. She stated the feeling as being paralyzed.
Williams called on the Senate to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act which is “a proposed United States labor law that would add procedural protections to the Equal Pay Act of 1963 and the Fair Labor Standards Act as part of an effort to address the gender pay gap in the United States.”
Williams revealed, “In late 2017, the news broke that I’d been paid less than $1,000 compared to the $1.5 million that my male counterpart had received for the exact same amount of work, and guess what, no one cared. This came as no surprise to me, it simply reinforced my life-learned belief that equality is not an inalienable right and that women would always be working just as hard for less money while shouldering more responsibility at home.”
In the video below, Williams uses her platform to seek change in the industry for women. She states that she wants women to be acknowledged and valued within a workplace. She imagines a workplace where women do not have to spend extra energy on righting for equal pay or their rights. She ends her speech by leaving the ball in the Senates court and asking them to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act.
We support and respect Michelle Williams for speaking out on a topic that is long overdue! Let us know what actions you think the Senate will take.
