Netflix Plans To Target More Foreign-Language Content

Netflix is constantly making changes in their approach to reaching more viewers and improving their content. Netflix's Vice President of international originals, Kelly Luegenbeihl, expressed "This is really just the beginning" when discussing that Netflix envisions more non-English language shows.


Statistically, 50 percent of Netflix subscribers have watched a foreign-language show. My guess is this will continue to rise as more non-English shows and movies are produced.


I think it is smart for Netflix to incorporate foreign-language shows and movies as part of their content. It shows diversity and that Netflix supports all types of cultures. It is important because it allows viewers to feel acknowledged and represented. This will be a great business strategy for Netflix because they will gain more subscribers who do not speak or understand English.
