In other Netflix news! Idris Elba will be starring in Netflix’s new Black Western feature titled, “The Harder They Fall.” The movie will be produced by music mogul, Jay-Z.

Spike Lee is making history again!

This one I’m excited for. The Oscar-winning filmmaker is working on Prince of Cats, a hip-hop version of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet set in 1980s-era New York. The film will starring Lakeith Stanfield, who we’ve seen in films such as ‘Get Out.’

The movie will tackle the Shakespearean classic with a contemporary twist. If you don’t know the story of Romeo & Juliet- the classic was written by William Shakespeare early in his career and is about two young star-crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. AKA Spike Lee is going to add a bunch of flavor to this one.

No release date as of yet.
