Actress and director, Penny Marshall passes away at age 75. She passed away in her Hollywood home, dues to complications stemming from her diabetes.
Marshall rose to fame from the hit TV show Laverne & Shirley. After her debut in the hit show, she went on to director several projects such as film “Big” and “A League of Their Own.”
"Our family is heartbroken over the passing of Penny Marshall," the Marshall family said in a statement.
Her directing career began in 1986 with a Whoopi Goldberg action-comedy “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.” She is iconic in the film and TV world, and her legacy will live on.
She is survived by her daughter, who’s also an actress, Tracy Reiner, her grandchildren and her sister.
