Steve Carell is set to join Jennifer Aniston, and Reese Witherspoon as the male lead in a new Apple morning-show drama. This will be Carell's first sitcom since he left "The Office."

Apple made its announcement last year. The show has yet been titled, but we do know Carell will play the character of Mitch Kessler- who is a morning anchor, struggling to adapt to the change of the media climate. The show was the first drama series ordered by Apple. Jennifer Anistone and Reese Witherspoon will serve as two of the executive producers. The show landed a 2-season order from Apple, and will have 10 episodes per season.

The series is based on "CNN senior media correspondent Brian Stelter’s 2013 book “Top of the Morning,” which recounted the recent rivalry between NBC’s “Today” and ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
